In this Earthmate Talk, Stephanie visits Robert in the studio.

- Robert: Ok thats enough for now. Take a break guys.

- R: Hi Stephanie.

- Stephanie: Hi Robert. Hows the music coming along.

- R: Its cool. The band is taking a break. Are we still on for lunch?

- S: Yeah. So wow, this is your studio huh?

- R: Oh yeah, well, one of them. This studio works out well because its in Hollywood, where a lot of talented people are.

- S: Cool. Yeah, thats why I'm here too.

- R: Yeah yeah, I got your email. You wanted to sing on one of my tracks?

- S: Yeah, I have a few days off before I go back on tour, so..

- R: Nice. So how was that tour you just finished? I heard part of it on the radio.

- S: Oh yeah. It was so fun. We took a tour bus and played in so many cities. We've been touring so long, I feel strange to be back home.

- R: Cool. So, do you have to meet with your band to work on your next album or something?

- S: Yeah, we go back to work on the 15th of next month. We're gonna take all the songs we wrote while we were on tour and record them.

- R: What do you guys use to record these days?

- S: Oh we're using Cubase. Its got a really high quality sound.

- R: Yeah, it does. Remember the days when people recorded on 4-tracks?

- S: You mean those big reel-to-reel tape machines? Yeah I remember those. I had a book on recording techniques, and I remember reading about how

nice those old machines sounded.

- R: Yeah, the quality of those old analog recording devices are still popular, even on todays albums.

- S: Speaking of albums, how did your last album do.

- R: See whats hanging on the wall behind you?

- S: Oh wow, a platinum record! Thats great! So what does that mean again?

- R: You should know! Your album is gonna go platinum soon!

- S: Haha yeah I know!

- R: Yeah so the platinum record is given to an artist if their album sells over a millions copies.

- S: Oh yeah. Thats cool.

- R: Isnt it? They used to say that an album went gold, which means that they sold over five hundred thousand copies. Nowadays, they usually say an

album went platinum, because they sell millions.

- S: Well I'll be happy to reach that number.

- R: I know you will.

- S: Thanks. So do you want a few advanced copies of my album.

- R: Sure, if your autograph is on the front.

- S: Hahha, ok. Sure. I'll say, 'To the nicest guy in the music biz.'

- R: Oh, your so nice. Well, lets get out of here and get something to eat. On me.

- S: No no. You bought lunch last time. This time its on me.

- R: Ok ok. I know a good sushi place in North Hollywood. You feel like sushi?

- S: Of course!

- R: Ok lets go.

- S: Ok.

- R: Ok guys, we'll be back.

- S: Dont they ever stop playing....
